Audrey she/her— owner, stylist

A Chicago native, Audrey has been in the hair industry for over a decade.  After spending 9 years mastering her cutting skills at a high end Chicago salon, she decided to carve her own path and open The Bevy.  Audrey has had extensive training from leaders in the industry, including advanced training from Sassoon Academy,  Bumble and Bumble U. and participated in numerous American Crew trainings.  In addition to technical skills, her willingness to listen is unparalleled, enabling every client to feel understood. Katie she/her— barber

Always knowing she wanted to be in the hair industry, Katie attended cosmetology school immediately after graduating early from high school. For more than a decade she has focused on men’s hair styles and has become a master at barbering. Her work has been featured in multiple American Crew videos and photo shoots. Katie cuts folks of all gender expressions yet is focused on barber styles- fades, tapers, pompadours. While she grew up on a farm in Monee, Katie spent much of her time on the Southside of Chicago at her grandparents auto body shop in Marquette Park. Finding her home in the Chicago punk scene in her early 20s, she eventually moved to the city. After spending ten years living on the Northside, Katie and her husband recently purchased their first home- in McKinley Park- close to where her family’s auto body shop once was. Currently most of her free time is spent renovating her new to her bungalow. Down time in this household involves wrangling and chilling with their rescue Rott/Bernie mix named Boone and their 2 cats, Toots and Omen.

Focusing on color for the past 12 years has allowed her to become a master at her craft. Araceli is a brand education specialist with Revlonissimo- the professional wing of Revlon. Jo she/her—stylist

Hailing from Des Moines, IA, Jo comes to TheBevy a seasoned stylist. She attended cosmetology school at the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis. After graduating in 2003, Jo worked on her craft in salons in Minneapolis until she felt Chicago calling. Having a brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew already in Chicago, the move was a no brainer. Since 2010, Jo has worked not just behind the chair but also as an instructor. She has trained many Chicagoland stylists during her time as an educator at the Aveda Institute Chicago. After teaching at the Institute she continued her path at a high end Chicago salon. While cultivating a loyal clientele, she was also an educator with the salon's advanced education team, training new apprentices. Although she can handle any cut you throw at her, her favorite hair is short hair. Pixies to bobs are what she enjoys cutting the most. While not behind the chair, Jo is an avid runner with 1 marathon under her belt. Always working towards the next race you can be sure training is taking up most of her free time. Currently, she's mom to one house plant that's holding on for dear life. Fingers crossed! We guarantee you'll love sitting in her chair, she's got hair skills dished with sides of humor and sass.

Alex she/her—stylist/colorist

Recently settled on the north side with her family, Alex has always had a love of all the iconic hair you get to see living in our unique city.  Wanting to contribute to the beauty of Chicago and its people, she changed direction 8 years ago and chose cosmetology school.  Since forging this path she has taken countless specialized classes ranging from pastel rainbows with Pulp Riot to razor classes with Jayne Edo.  With all this education under her belt, Alex has been able to fine tune her real obsession - making your hair the least of your worries while still looking cool as hell.  She loves playing up natural texture, creating low maintenance color options, and talking you through how to tweak your at home routine.  Alex thinks consultations are the most important part of her service, and will always take her time until you feel comfortable moving forward.  When she doesn't have her hands in hair she can be                                                                                          found whipping up something delicious in the kitchen or pretending she's not tired in a crowd                                                                                          at Thalia Hall!
