Always knowing she wanted to be in the hair industry, Katie attended cosmetology school immediately after graduating early from high school. For over 15+ years, she has focused on men’s hairstyles and has become a master at barbering. Her work has been featured in multiple American Crew videos and photo shoots. Katie cuts folks of all gender expressions yet is focused on barber styles —fades, tapers, pompadours, and shags, which are her personal favorites! While she grew up on a farm in Monee, Katie spent much of her time on the Southside of Chicago at her grandparents' auto body shop in Marquette Park. Finding her home in the Chicago punk scene in her early 20s, she eventually moved to the city. After spending 12 years living on the Northside, Katie and her husband recently purchased their first home, built in 1885, in McKinley Park, close to where her family’s auto body shop once stood. Currently, most of her free time is spent being a Mama to her daughter, Daisy Jade, and their 3rd rescue Rott/Bernie mix named Boone Boy, plus her Senior orange tabby cat she calls Tootie Pop, who has been by her side through it all. Katie also has her license as a Real Estate Broker, fueling her love for old, charming houses, which she also squeezes in her very little spare time!
